This year we will have weekly spelling lists while also working on transferring
our spelling skills into our daily writing. Each week we will look at a new spelling rule, but also at a skill to help
us be better writers. Proofreading our work is another skill we will be working on. Check
in each week to see our new list of words and to find out what skill we are working on in English.
In English we will be working with the Six Traits of
writing. We are starting with Ideas and will work on grammar and mechanics (Conventions).
Students are reviewing their cursive writing. Once all the letters
have been reviewed, students will be expected to do all their work in cursive.
